Heckscher State Park - State Park is located in East Islip, New York. Heckscher State Park has been rated as one of 100 camps in the United States. Swimming, hiking, biking, playground and facilities can be found here, and nice trails to walk your dog, as long as keep your dog with a leash.

Wildwood State Park - Wildwood is a wonderful place to go camping if you really like to go camping in the desert, since it is composed by the park nearly 600 acres of undeveloped land. Swimming, fishing and hiking are the activities offered at Wildwood State Park. The park is open all year, but the season Camping is only from April to October.

Here Hills State Park - Located in Montauk, New York, Hither Hills State Park was rated among the best places to camp in the United States. Many outdoor activities are available at this park including ball fields, bridle paths, nature trails, and fishing. Skiing is permitted during the winter and hunting is allowed during the hours allowed.

Letchworth State Park - Letchwork State Park is located along the Genesee River, 35 kilometers south of Rochester. This park is amazingly beautiful with canyons, rivers and waterfalls. You can camp under the stars, or stay in one of the inns very nice in the area. Many activities are available here too, such as rafting, canoeing, ballooning hot air, and swimming.

Allegany State Park - Allegany State Park is located near I-86, exit 18, 19 and 20. Quaker and Red House areas are very well developed with cabins, playgrounds, and inns for your camping pleasure. There are also many activities available to other endangered bird watching, picnicking, hiking, hunting, canoeing and horseback riding.

Isolated primitive camping near the center of Texas?

I am looking for a place to camp near the center of Texas (no more than 4 or 5 hours from Austin). I want a place that "really in the forest is not a place previously designated as those in national parks or camping areas Ruffing want a real experience. It would be nice if it was a separate place of civilization and preferably near water. (lake or river) Also a hiking area would be great but not necessarily have to be the trails. Walking through the woods would be very nice. Anybody know of any places?

wow i know a place Camping Fabulous, my favorite, actually. Go to Lost Maples, Camping area "C" on an increase of miles to reach C, but its worth it. 'C' is right beside a natural spring fed good size "mini-lake" of values that every January or February, I think. so remote, the park never been better, just do not like the album I'm in Sa.-have fun!
