Is there something to do or see in whole or in Kirksville, Missouri?

My family and I go down to Kirksville, Missouri, camping at Thousand Hills State Park. We spent a week there and thought it was maybe 1 to 2 day trips or events to do or where to go. We're driving to Hannibal to see Mark Twain Cave and spend a day boating on the lake. Any other suggestions?

Camping off the road in upstate New York ...?

Is there a campsite in the New York area Upsate (preferably 2-3 hours New York) that do not have to pay, which is not a tourist attraction site where you can really only live in the desert for two nights. A place where you will be able to create a small fire and have not State Troopers in your ass. If not, can anyone recommend a good campsite is not too touristy and that will give real wilderness feeling? Thank you!

The Adirondacks is more like 5 hours from New York. It's better than the Catskills. Catskills are about 1-3 more hours away from New York, depending on where you go. Get the Catskills nynjtc.org map will help you a lot. Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks are less than an hour from New York. You can find great camping spots in this area if you are looking for. Camping is technically only allowed for the shelters / cough lean, which are to be shared by any who wants to stay there, usually have people on them, at least on weekends and those along the Appalachian Trail. I found many remote places private campground in these 2 parks, and never had problems with Rangers (theres not many of them anyway). Still without a trace.

There is a great place in the Panhandle of Florida I have been a number of times that's impressive for a journey of camping. His call Billy Jo Rish Park and is in a village called Cape San Blas / Port St. Joe. Situated on a peninsula that has long abyss on one side and a huge bay on the other. They have cabins on the top of the long walks. Im not sure how to handle individual camping trips, but definitely worth a look. Also here is a phone number from a different place in the same area.
