My husband and I are going camping for 10 days in October we will be in central Alabama. The last time I did this, it rained every day! On the last day that were flooded. It was a disaster. A cold, muddy mess. How we can help in getting wet in our store. (As this is a time of storm of the year.) Is it possible to obtain a large enough Canapy to put across the store that has parts that fold down, and if so that can help me?:) enjoy the rain storm. It was like the honeymoon practice, very romantic and relaxing LOL.
Do not dig a trench around your tent. That destroys the soil and causes unnecessary effects. This practice is out of date and inefficient. In addition, private campsites, owners will not like to dig their property and could land a fine in most state parks and probably give you a fine of federal property. Buying a quality tent the first step to keep dry. You can spend $ 59.98 at Wal-Mart for a 10x8 tent that can stand up in, but you might get wet. Most shops shops department have no value. Select a good quality of self-support and a shop tent. Someplace like REI, Cabelas. EMS, Dick (one point) or a independent or small chain. People do not often know more about tents that some part-time sporting goods clerk at Wal-Mart, which also mixes paint and re-organizes the engine oil. (Trust me I worked for Wal-Mart for 10 years ... all the boys Sporting knew was how to fill hunting licenses and equipment from the shelves.) You do not need to spend a fortune in a tent, but you can pick up a good store basis for 2-3 people for about $ 100 - $ 140. The last store that actually had to pay for cost me $ 89. A 2-person Eureka Apex. Never has been leaked and are making heavy rain and showers over the weekend many times. Find a store that has a full rainfly has been recorded or sealed seams. I also prefer tents to a lobby to keep my muddy boots in the rain, but not at the store. Camping proper selection is also key. High ground with good drainage is best. Find a spot that is slightly angled so you will have second round. If the campground has tent platforms ... use. Use a groundcloth. Some people put it under the tent ... I got mine at the store campaign and create a bathtub. This prevents water from entering the tent through the floor. Have fun ... Stay Dry.

Fishing on the Zambezi River for the beginner or experienced fisherman is probably the closest one can get to absolute perfection. But what can wait to take and how? What are the best times of year and what are the potential dangers if any?
Like all fishermen know it is not just about catching, but it's about being one with nature and their environment. Well, what better place than you can do this in the mighty Zambezi River?
It is always changing through the seasons never seen what one is the same as the following Spell Bound keep growing. The wildlife and birds are in abundance and for me nothing can be much thinner than a day's fishing on the Zambezi River.
What you can take
There more than 75 species of fish that inhabit these waters. The most coveted of these is the tiger fish, well known as probably the greatest fighting freshwater fish around. It's kind of wild that can grow as large as 33 pounds (15 kg) in weight.
However, you can also expect to take Vundu, Three-spot and yellow-gold belly, Upper Zambezi and Barbel Yellowfish to name only some of the most common.
Vundu is a type of catfish and is the largest fish found in the Zambezi, It can grow as large as 100 pounds. The Yellow magnificent belly Bream (Nembwe) 4kgs reach over weight and is very popular among fishermen.
How to catch
Trolling and spinning with artificial lures, both for Tiger fish and snapper are the standard methods used. Fishing background and drift bait (fillet or live bait) are also highly successful methods.
Some of these methods obviously require the use of a boat, so that unless you have an account, it is definitely advisable to take a tour with a fishing business around quality. Slowly drifting with the flow and the smelter at the swirling eddies often gives great fish. The very large tiger fish in general, deep water walking drifting with a chicken or a fillet of fish is probably the best way to take one of these monsters.
Fishing from the bank in the Zambezi National Park can be very rewarding if you can find the right spot for fishing with fly and spinning. Sometimes it gives you that extra mobility to find the fish in exact places especially during the very dry season, when you can sneak up on the shallow water and pounding on the rocks and thrown into the fast flow.
Guidance Tiger fish on the fly is definitely one of the most challenging and exciting experiences no fisherman can have. Stopping heart attacks are always followed by fantastic aerial acrobatics, dance like tigers in all surface water trying to cast your fly from the mouth of bone (often successfully).
These fighters tremendous swimming upstream all day and are extremely convenient, their fighting is unsurpassed by any other fish normally catch in front of them is exciting in itself, but to catch one on a fly rod is incredible.
When picked
Fish and Nembwe Tigers are headed over the year but are particularly prolific since the late May to December.
The rains usually begin around late November, with rain comes the murky water and a pile of rubble, as well as food. As the increased water levels until January, many fish species move into floodplains to feed and reproduce. In May, the water level reaches its peak and then begin to decrease over the next few months until they are again at their lowest level in November. It's like these water levels start to recede you can have some really excellent fishing on the Zambezi.
The fish bait, usually around June, has to leave the safety of floodplains and make your way back to the main channel, these "bait balls" are followed by predators, and this is when a lot of action takes place and there is an excellent it was fishing with both attract and fly.
As water levels continue to fall, temperatures begin to rise and water becomes very clear from August to November of excellent fishing of all species is to be had.
What to watch out for
The Zambezi Africa what is real is not escape the fact that hippos and crocodiles live in these waters in profusion. Experienced guides yet know exactly how to avoid these animals and leave be, so that both man and animals can enjoy this magical place. So do not let that stop you from these dangers go make sure you go with someone who knows what they are doing.
If you are fishing on the Zambezi the bank's stand on the riverbank next to a deep water channel for long periods time, keep moving every few minutes. But in all honesty your biggest enemy here is the sun, fresh air blowing off the calm water in the belief that no are burned. So make sure you have a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen and long sleeves even.
Mosquitoes do not worry you during the day but evening out in full force so if you are going to be in the water at this time make sure you have some mosquito repellent with you.
The water in this section of Victoria Falls on the Zambezi is very pure and good for drinking.

Is it safe to Camp & Hike in the Grand Canyon in mid-March?
I'm going to the Grand Canyon. 1st time! I'm trying to plan. A Although I'm going this Friday. Time / Safety wise, it is safe for camping and hiking in the Grand Canyon.
Thinking about camping inside the barrel or in a camp on the edge? If you are on the rim, then going to be a little cold. Last year it snowed in May. You can do with the right equipment, but prolly would not do myself. If you are camping inside the canyon, then you will be fine. It is much hotter at the bottom the canyon. Usually 20 or more degrees warmer than on the edge, and nothing better than waking inside the canyon. As for excursions, it is perfectly safe. There may be some ice patches on roads in the first mile or so, but after that it's perfect. I hope you have fun, if you need to know something more on the barrel, let me know. I can even tell you how to enter the park for free. Just email me @ kclvr24@aol.com.
