Capital south side? DC fireworks? Worth it?
We live near DC, and are contemplating a trip to see the "Capital of the Fourth" fireworks on the mall. We have reservations at a hotel in DC 1 / 2 mile away and a plan to take the bikes. Is it difficult to get a good seat to see the concert and fireworks? At what age has to come (I understant you can not enter until 5 PM - I guess the Mall is fenced?). Do people in line for hours before the people (we've been camping - literally in tents online for the Easter egg roll at the White House)? Any advice and recommendations? Normally I thought the Washington Post that kind of information, but I'm watching ...
They are absolutely worth it! The crowds are huge, but still I say it's worth. Every time I am inclined to head down over the lunch hour. I try to be there to get a place in the mall, at the latest 2pm and have always had good points. We accept credit cards / small games, snacks and water. To the extent that goes into it with a good mentality ... I know there will be thousands of people, have to wait for several hours, and will be a herd of cattle to get out .. not a problem. I personally love, you get there early, creating a place, leave with friends and family to talk and play games, walk a bit taking in the sites and people watching, then you get to see an amazing display of fireworks the nation's capitol as a backdrop.
let's play Fallout 3 pt 73: Campground (HD)
