Recommendations for the start of Camper - arts?

I have a tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, flashlight and an insecticide for each one of us (me and my son). What would you recommend I add? I'm thinking of cooking equipment, something simple. Probably not more than 2-3 days camping at a time, usually for weekend events like a Renaissance Fair, so not far from a store, but would like to have breakfast on hand, at least. The recommendations of other gear wise? Thank you!

My friend canceled our trip to Maui field and have no one to go with it, but I'm trapped in progress. Comments?

My friend and I decided to just randomly buy a ticket to Maui and camping on the beach, cheap style. However, she can not go and I really want to go yet, but have no one. I am young, so I do not go alone does not (and had to camp only). I'm adventurous in seeking some sort of connection traveling companion, but do not know anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?
